What is your education, training, and experience?
Julius' Bachelor’s degree is in Educational Studies and Sociology from Emory University.  Julius also has completed a Master of Science in Social Administration (MSSA) (Social Work) at Case Western University and a Masters of Divinity at Candler School of Theology.  Prior to private practice, Julius has worked for non profit agencies, residential settings, and outpatient clinics.
 
Are you a Christian Counselor?  Do you provide services to Non Christian Clients?
Julius is a Christian, a Minister in the United Church of Christ, and a psychotherapist. This therapy practice is inclusive to ALL people of ALL sexual orientations, religions/spiritual traditions, gender, nationalities, and race. ALL are WELCOME! We believe that our job is to listen intently and non-judgmentally, and reflecting back what is heard without imposing any beliefs, value judgments, or standards on to what is heard.  We recognize that individuals may have been wounded by organized religion, family of origin, and other relationships. In our work together, we will work to create a safe space where you can bring your authentic self. We will work towards goals that will move you forward with an understanding of how you have been hurt, shaped, and led to this point in your life. 
 
What kind of therapy will this be?
Julius has skills and training in multiple modalities. During our time together, we develop a custom made approach just for you that will respond to your behaviors, your past experiences, your relationships, and your needs.

What if I don’t feel better?
Therapy will take time. You will learn skills to manage symptoms day to day. However, sources of pain may emerge. In our session, we discuss communication skills for expressing concerns/problems/issues in sessions and as needed with others in your life.  Examining patterns, identifying the source, and communicating with others is vital for progress to occur. This process will take time.

What is your policy regarding confidentiality?
We adhere to the Georgia State Code of Ethics as well as the Code of Ethics for social workers and HIPAA regulations. We follow the laws of the State of Georgia in reporting to the designated authorities’ intentions on the part of clients to commit suicide, homicide, or incidents of child abuse. (Georgia Code: 19-7-5) 

If you have been treated previously by a therapist, physician, or treatment program, it will facilitate our work together if we have your permission to review your previous records as we deem necessary.
